Website: Knowledge for Success

Assalamu Alaikum.

Here’s a site that’s just brimming with information. It contains the audio lectures of Brother Aqil Ingram.

http://knowledgeforsuccess.multiply.com/

He’s explained lots of books (some of which have not been translated to English yet).

The only downside to this website is that in order to listen to the lectures, one needs to register for a free multiply account.

Book: Explanation of the Nullifiers of Islam

Assalamu Alaikum.

Here’s an nice, simple explanation of Imam Muhammad ibn Abdil Wahhaab’s (rahimahullah) Nullifiers of Islam by Shaikh Abdul Azeez Ar-Raajihee.

Everyone is advised to read it so as to be aware of some of the actions that can take one out of the fold of Islam.

Book/Lecture: The Natural Blood of Women

Assalamu Alaikum.

Like hijab, menstruation is another issue that I get asked a lot of questions about. Most women seem to have some confusion in this matter.

Because menstruation is related to tahaarah (purification) and tahaarah is required for prayer, well….every women needs to know the proper rulings of the various “scenarios”.

Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen wrote a detailed book about this issue entitled “The Natural Blood of Women.”

There’s a nice translation of this book done by Dr. Bilal Philips. A lousy and partial copy  of this nice book can be read here.

There’s another translation by Dr. Saleh As-Saleh (rahimahullah), who also did a lecture series based on this book. I’d advise everyone to go through either the book or the lecture, because this information is a must-know for every Muslim woman.

An explanation of the famous hadeeth of Ubaadah ibn Saamit (radiallahu anhu)

Assalamu Alaikum.

What famous hadeeth, you ask?

This one:

Narrated Ubaadah: The Prophet (salallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “If anyone testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His Slave and His Messenger, and that Isa is Allah’s Slave and His Messenger and His Word which He bestowed on Maryam and a Spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he had done even if those deeds were few.”

(Junada, the sub-narrator said, “Ubaadah added, ‘Such a person can enter Paradise through any of its eight gates he likes.”)

[Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume No. 4, Hadeeth No. 644]

Here’s a detailed explanation of this simple yet fantastic hadeeth.

Website: Above The Throne

Assalamu Alaikum.

As everyone (from Ahlus Sunnah) knows, Allah is above His Throne and He is not “everywhere”.

Here’s an entire site dedicated to proving this (very obvious) fact using the proofs from the Quran, Sunnah and loads of classical scholars:

Reality of Tawakkul (relying upon Allah) by Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzan

Assalamu Alaikum.

One of my students had asked for lots more information on Tawakkul so let me start off with the first article*. I’ll be putting up more information on this issue, insha-Allah:

[*The following three articles are actually parts of a book by Shaikh Saalih Al-Fawzan.]

The Meaning of Reliance (Tawakkul) on Allaah

Shaikh Saalih bin Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan
Haqeeqat-ut-Tawakkul ‘alaAllaah (pg. 7-14)
Al-Ibaanah.com

All praise be to Allaah, Lord of the all that exists, and may Allaah send His peace and praises on His Messenger, our Prophet Muhammad, as well as on all of his family members and Companions, and those who follow his guidance, tread his methodology and adhere to his Sunnah until the Day of Recompense.

To Proceed: Relying on Allaah (tawakkul) is one of the greatest forms of worship. Allaah says: “So upon Allaah, put your trust if you are truly believers.” [Surah Al-Maa’idah: 23] So He made relying upon Allaah (tawakkul) a condition for Eemaan (Faith).

Allaah said to His Prophet: “So when you have made a decision, then put your trust in Allaah.” [Surah Aali ‘Imraan: 159]

So He ordered His Prophet to put his trust and reliance on Allaah.

Allaah says: “O Prophet! Allaah is sufficient for you and for the believers who follow you.” [Surah Al-Anfaal: 64]

And He says: “And whoever is dutiful to Allaah, He makes a way out for him (from every difficulty). And He will provide for him from places he never could imagine. And whoever puts his trust in Allaah, He will suffice him. Verily, Allaah will accomplish His purpose. Indeed, Allaah has set a measure for all things.” [Surah At-Talaaq: 2-3]

And He says: “And whoever is dutiful to Allaah, He will make his matter easy for him. That is the Command of Allaah, which He has sent down to you. And whoever fears Allaah and keeps his duty to Him, He will expiate from him his sins and enlarge his reward.” [Surah At-Talaaq: 4-5]

Article: Islam is the Blessed Religion

Assalamu Alaikum.

Here’s a really, really wonderful article (it’s actually a transcript of a lecture) that talks about tawheed, bida (innovations), dawah, etc.

The Shaikh gives some really great examples (don’t miss the one about the old hag and bida!) and clarifies some really important issues.

I learnt a lot just by skimming through it (now I just need to read everything again slowly).

Please do read it* (and the Q and A session too):

[HOJ students – You will really like this as it summarises the whole course.]
